Lisa Hughes is an experienced editor and content researcher with over 20 years of experience in both print and digital. She has fond memories from her childhood of frequently returning from the library staggering under the weight of a huge stack of books. As a self-described “word nerd,” she has always loved the precision of grammar and punctuation; to her, diagramming a sentence is like completing a fun puzzle—with every word fitting in its proper place.
This love of the English language led her to obtain a degree in English education. She was an English teacher for several years before she transitioned to the editing field, working with Honor Books and Cook Communications as a proofreader, copy editor, compiler, and writer.
After marrying her husband, Greg, she embraced the lifestyle of a freelance editor to be able to join him on numerous international adventures leading small groups of teenagers and young adults on mission trips. Together, they have explored many fascinating countries—some of their favorites being India, Peru, and Bolivia.
Eventually, their love of adventure and the great outdoors led them to settle in Fort Collins, Colorado, where they enjoy hiking and camping in the beautiful Rocky Mountains with their four children.
Lisa graduated with highest honors from Oral Roberts University, Tulsa, Oklahoma, with a Bachelor of Arts in English Education.
